Today I had an appointment at Cleveland Clinic, decided to stop in to eat. I work at a Mom and Pop’s similar to this place, and had pretty high expectations. They were definitely met! The food was amazing, greasy spoon royalty! The portions were huge, staff is friendly and we will be back for sure.
A great Sunday breakfast! I sat at the community table. The atmosphere, service, and food was wonderful! Great prices - 2 GIANT chocolate chip pancakes, a pile of bacon, perfectly scrambled eggs, and coffee for under $14. It was more food than I could eat.
I usually have no problems when I go here and it has been my favorite breakfast plave but they recently changed their waffles from the classic style to the thick Belgian style waffles. I was really disappointed when I ordered them because while the recipe tastes similar, the texture and experience was not the best compared to the waffles they used to make. I might have to find another place to go to for waffles now. Their other food is usually pretty good.
Im a frequent customer here. I normally come in and seat myself at an available table Today I came in and did the same and was stopped by the front desk lady to say that other people were waiting for the table. I say ok and ask how long the wait The lady became rude and her tone was unnecessary and she basically said well there's people in front of you so I don't know . I'm like no need to be rude. She could've said maybe 15 to 20 min or were just waiting for some tables to leave then we can call you in. The place is already super small and I was trying to find a place for me and my kids to eat this morning. She ended up calling me 4 min later to come in but at that point I didn't even want to eat there due to the lady with the glasses and beard attitude
I’ve been eating here since I was a kid, and the prices are pretty much the same as I remember. Around 2018 they had fallen off a bit, but now they’ve got great cooks and are back to their original reputation. The hostess in the front is very warm and friendly. They still have the cute vintage setup from the early 2000s, which I find adorable. I ordered a corned beef hash omelette and it was delicious. It wasn’t the canned kind, it was homemade and full of flavor. The portion was very generous and came with toast and your choice of grits or home fries. I highly recommend this Cleveland staple to anyone looking for good home cooking at a great price.
Simple family like tyner service was great. Kind, fast and friendly. The atmosphere is no frills but clean and cozy family like I had not been there in a long time and when we are getting ready to go the waitress told us that someone had paid our bill anonymously. That was so very kind of for him. We enjoyed our food. I had french toast and my husband had eggs and hash browns and an English muffin and sausage. Thanks to whoever did that for us we will pay it forward
Now don't get me wrong. The people where very nice. I don't know if it was because we came late or what. But the food was probably the worst I as well as the rest of my guest food as well. I had liver and onions that was like leather the worst I have ever had. And trust me I Love liver and onions. The Fish was old smelled like fish. The corned beaf wasn't good taste like soap. Just bad food all the way around. Like I said people was great but food will never stop there again.
Big Al's was amazing. Rebecca was our server and she was phenomenal even with the place being packed. The food was outstanding & we had an awesome time. Can't wait to go back! Highly recommend the pecan pancakes and the steak, cheese & onion omelet. Everything came out hot and delicious!
